PASSIVE HOUSE
Our Refugium has full thermal insulation - it's a bit like being in a warm sleeping bag. Solar energy and residual heat generated by guests and household appliances are largely sufficient to keep the building pleasantly warm. The building has been constructed and insulated in such a way that temperature and air exchange are regulated almost automatically. Any residual heat requirement is met by the low-energy underfloor heating (geothermal energy).
OPTIMAL INDOOR CLIMATE
To ensure a pleasant climate in your apartment, each suite has been equipped with controlled ventilation. This provides the rooms with enough fresh air without cooling them down. A heat exchanger in the ventilation system means the heat energy from the waste air can be reused and the CO2 sensor constantly measures the air quality in your apartment, to provide ventilation as needed. The air exchange doesn't use suction, so it's completely inconspicuous but still very effective.
UNNECESSARY VENTILATION
Ventilating the room by opening windows and doors is unnecessary and actually ineffective. The warm air from the room would escape unused to the outside and cool the suite down, or conversely the hot summer air would come into the suite and overheat the rooms.
WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE
On request, we will be happy to explain exactly how our passive house works and show you our equipment room.
Thank you for helping to protect our precious environment during your holiday!
HOUSE RULES IN SPRING, AUTUMN AND WINTER
To guarantee a pleasant room temperature during your stay, please keep windows and doors closed. If possible, they should only be opened when you are going in or out. Entrance doors and balcony doors should be closed as soon as possible after use, so that your suite does not cool down. This ensures that the low-energy underfloor heating system will be sufficient! Please avoid keeping the windows and doors open.
HOUSE RULES IN SUMMER
To guarantee a pleasant room temperature during your stay, we recommend that you keep the windows and doors closed. If possible open them only when entering and exiting and use the Venetian blinds and sliding panels to provide shade.
